Please join us in celebrating our graduates tomorrow, June 2nd during worship and also during coffee hour! Congratulations to high school graduates Angela Phipps, Mackenzie Silver, Miranda Silver and Zachary Taylor! This Sunday we are hosting a speaker from Unleashing Potential, formerly called Neighborhood Houses. This would be a good time to bring a gift for the baby barrel, which supports clients of U P. The items listed for May donations are baby wash/shampoo and onesies, but other baby gifts are appreciated as well.
With the condition of today's world, I often feel overwhelmed. This quote from Theodore Roosevelt helps: "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." And it's similar to a quote you will hear in this Sunday's sermon: "For the Lord Jesus Christ's sake do all the good you can to all the people you can in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can."
Friday night we left the church in semi-darkness after experiencing the day that Christ was crucified and the light went out of the world. Now we wait through a quiet Saturday, thinking of Jesus' followers who mourned, believing that his body was in the grave. Let's join in Sunday morning at 9:39 to experience the surprise of an empty grave and the celebration of the resurrection!!
Worship tonight for Good Friday begins at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome.
There is still time to call in a reservation for Maundy Thursday breakfast. (do it today) Maundy Thursday is the day we use to commemorate Jesus' last meal with his disciples. On this day Jesus gave them a maundatum novum — “new commandment”, to love one another as he loves them. From that word maundatum comes the name Maundy Thursday. It's a day to learn to love, even as much as Jesus loved!
Tomorrow is Cardinal Sunday! No, you won't find it in the liturgical calendar. Just for the fun of it -- wear your cardinal T-shirt, cap, jewelry, etc. If you don't have any of those you may wear anything red. And of course, as always, YOU are WELCOME at worship, with or without the red clothing.
This Thursday is session 2 of our Lenten study "Way of Life," based on Brian D. McLaren's book "The Great Spiritual Migration." Is Christianity about having the right set of beliefs and rituals? Or is it about following Jesus? We meet at 11:30 am tomorrow--bring your lunch.

This morning was "sit in a new spot Sunday." I felt like I was seeing a whole new congregation! While a few said honestly that they just didn't like it, everyone gave it a good sporting try. Thank you everyone.
We extend our love and sympathy to the family of Vera Conrad. Vera passed away this afternoon, as was her wish, there will be no services. Please keep her family in your prayers.
It’s SouperBowl of Caring weekend! Our Confirmation Class and Youth Group participated in a meal packing event today as a part of this annual project. Tomorrow, Sunday, February 3rd, we will be collecting food and toiletries for TEAM Food Pantry and cash donations for HeatUp St. Louis. We’ve all been reminded how much we need heat this past week! The grocery cart will be in the narthex to collect food before worship and the youth will have their soup pots ready to take your monetary donations after worship. Will you pick the Rams soup pot, the Patriots soup pot or the SouperBowl of Caring soup pot? I know which pot I’m choosing!

Last Sunday, Oct 21, we were thankful to have this group of our children and teens help out in the church service as Greeters and Ushers! Pastor Lisa had a great story to share with them during the Children's Time. We hope to involve them more in our future worship services! Thank you to all the children, teens, and their parents that helped this past Sunday be a success!
